On May 28, 1985, Farmo Res S.r.l. was officially founded,an independent company specializing in the design and production of thermoforming machines for the pharmaceutical industry.
Our story began well before the official foundation. Our roots go back to Milan in 1958, with the birth of Farmografica, a pioneering packaging company producing folding cartons for pharmaceutical products. In the following years, a mechanical division was established within the company, which developed the first thermoforming machine for plastic ampoules.
In 1964, we received our first major recognition: a revolutionary patent, awarded the Packaging Oscar and acknowledged in both Europe and the United States. It was clear from the start that innovation was in our DNA.
By the end of the 1970s, the decision to move mechanical production to Cervia marked a strategic turning point. Romagna, known for its industrious spirit, hospitality, and historical ties to Milan, became the ideal home for building a new future. And it was here, in the heart of this territory, that Farmo Res was born in 1985.
The company name pays tribute to the first thermoforming machine created by our founder, Massimo Armetti, a visionary leader who turned his passion for mechanics into a solid, innovative, and internationally recognized enterprise. His pioneering spirit continues to inspire every machine we design and build today.
Over the past 40 years, Farmo Res has made a significant contribution to the evolution of pharmaceutical packaging, promoting advanced and reliable solutions. But our impact goes beyond the industry: we have become an important presence in the Cervia area, offering qualified employment, nurturing local talent, and building long-term relationships of trust with customers and partners around the world.
